There are many different categories of ISA that exist including:

  • Cash ISA
  • Stocks and Shares ISA
  • Lifetime ISA
  • Junior ISA
  • Innovative Finance ISA

Whilst these all benefit from the tax wrapper, here are some key differences:

Cash ISA:
You are holding cash in a savings product.

Stocks and Shares ISA:
You hold shares in an investment product.

Lifetime ISA:
You can hold cash, stocks and shares, or a combination of both.

Junior ISA:
There are two types of Junior ISAs: cash and stocks and shares.

IF-ISA:
You can hold a variety of assets, including: Peer-to-peer (P2P) loans, Debt-based securities, Mini bonds and cash.
